Wooden furniture cleaning part 3

April 15th, 2010

Even among general categories such as wood, stone, or tile floors, there are vast differences between specific examples. We from Home Cleaning guarantee universal house cleaning provided by our professional highly experienced home cleaners.

General guidance for:

1. Floor cleaning:

*Vacuum or sweep up loose dirt frequently.
*Use a dust mop or tie a duster onto the base of a broom to remove dust and cobwebs from corners.
*Wipe up any spills immediately.
*Clean with a damp mop or cloth (using plain water) weekly or more often. Change the water as soon as it gets cloudy.
*Use stronger cleaners only when a damp mop won’t do the job.
*Rinse thoroughly after using any kind of cleaner.

2. Cleaning stone flooring:

*Sprinkle damp sawdust over a floor, scrub with a stiff brush and sweep up the sawdust with a broom and dustpan. Then vacuum
*Many kinds of stone flooring, especially marble, need a neutral pH!
*A mild washing up liquid mixed with water would also work nicely. (Home Cleaning have available professional cleaners who can refinish your stone floors, leaving you with satisfaction)

3. Cleaning ceramic tile floors:

*A quick once-over with a damp mop is often all that is needed.
*When damp mopping isn’t enough, mix a capful of methylated spirits in 4 litres of electric cleaner-polisher. Rinse well with a commercial cleaner that contains an anti-mound ingredient which is handy if the floor is prone to dampness.
*If the grout needs attention, mix 50ml vinegar with 4 litres of water and scrub with a toothbrush or nylon scrubbing pad. For heavy duty treatment, scrub with a mixture of 100ml of chlorine bleach in 2 litres of water (wear rubber gloves). Let the solution stand for 20 minutes, mop the floor twice with clean water to rinse thoroughly and wipe dry.
